I come home from work and find that Tumblr is down. I am disappoint. >:[

But hey! At least we get to see the last repetitive date of our lifetimes! Ugh, it makes me more aware of my own mortality.

Alternate title: Fuck you, Activision.

OK, so a bit of background: I played and beat Prototype a few months back. It wasn't amazing or groundbreaking or anything, but it was good, dumb, gory fun courtesy of some of the coolest superpowers I've seen (not to mention that Alex Mercer is a friggin' badass). Naturally, I was looking forward to the sequel. Without a console to play it on, I'm stuck with waiting for the PC version, because hell if I'm going to put down money for a console near the end of the current gen. Today, I was shocked to find out this bit of news: Activision's closing Radical Entertainment's doors (allegedly) because of Prototype 2's modest sales. It's still coming out for PC much to my relief, but I don't think this bodes well for potential patches and the like.

It's really disheartening to see a company like Radical Entertainment, which has been around since the NES era, get shot down because it didn't meet a AAA publisher's over-high sales expectations. I'm probably not going to boycott EVERYTHING Activision puts out now, but I'm sure as hell not playing another Call of Duty game.

Well, my dad's Xbox 360 has succumbed to the Red Ring of Death. I thought he'd get angry about it, but he was all "meh, we'll fix it it's totally fine". I do hope the save data, Achievements, profiles, and the like don't get erased though.

Other than that, life's been good. My new job's going along fine; my co-workers are happy to have me on board. That makes me all warm and fuzzy on the inside~~!! ^v^

I got a software developer job with a great salary. The start date's twothree weeks from now--provided I get the pre-employment forms done in a timely manner--so there's plenty of time to fuck around before working 40 hours a week. Oh, and it's only 20 minutes from where I live!
